Just How We came to Such a State as This Without Really Trying......Part Five

Carey was a strange little town..no grocery store or much else but they did have a gas and goody store that provided fresh water for campers and Rvs as well as a trash bin (which we found very hard to find at times) and a black water dump. If we wanted to buy groceries we would have to travel 50 miles north to the famous SUN VALLEY IDAHO (had always wanted to see it).

We looked at he map and asked questions as to how to get out to the free campsite that was on the site of a reservoir . After a drive on a dirt road (which was not too bad) we arrived at the reservoir. So beautiful and so well kept. We hoped that it would be a quiet place to spend the next two weeks. We were always hopeful but it had never happened and always full of quads and dirt bikes, boomboom music and parties. We had not found the quiet that we had so wanted.

The first day was so lovely and really all of the two weeks was lovely except for an incident that happened on the second day. What I loved was the beautiful trees .birds, and the sail boats and paddle boats in the water. The place was so serene until the next day when the two ladies set up camp next to us.

They were noisy talking very loud and playing loud music. They seemed as if they wanted to be noticed. They were very heavy and walked around in skimpy bikinis..yuck...but what could we do...just stay on our side and try to ignore them. The next day turned into something different for Pete had to walk past their camp to throw our trash away and they sicked there dog on him. Pete blew his top and walked right over with a large stick and told them he would kill the dog if they tried that again. Welllllllllllll the next morning bright and early they packed up and left. Oh yes that was wonderful.

That very day a couple parked and set up camp and they were so quiet that we hardly knew they were next to us. Friendly when they saw us and waved but spent a lot of time out on the water with their paddle boats.

The days were quiet and we enjoyed this beautiful place but finally we had to go out and get groceries.. I was excited about seeing Sun Valley. Lots of stars had homes up in this area ...knew I would not see one but just wanted to see this famous place.

It was all that I dreamed of and then some with an airport in this small town that surprised me as many jets sat in the port. (Private I assumed)We drove around looking at all there was to see and told Pete that I could live here. It snows ...he said ...and I had to agree.

And yes the two weeks came to an end and it was time to move on. Was sad to say goodbye to the first place that had been quiet and had fewer buffalo Flies to fight off. It was so very beautiful and truthfully hated the thought of heading back into Utah. Sigh but we had decided on a final destination of a place called Coyote Howls. We had been considering it for a long time as they had much warmer winters and no snow. Sounded good to me. Besides I was still having a lot of trouble with my lungs and weakness. Thought a warmer winter would be welcoming not only for me but for Pete as well.
